Tellus Recon is intentionally broader than a drone photography business. Projects can be straightforward, technical, recurring, or completely unusual.

01 — PRIMARY SERVICE

Agricultural Reconnaissance

Get a fast, organized view across an entire field and identify exactly where something may deserve a closer look. Aerial observation can help document visible crop variability and conditions that are difficult to appreciate from field level alone.

Important: Aerial imagery can identify weed escapes and suspicious patches, but herbicide resistance requires ground confirmation and, when appropriate, agronomic or laboratory evaluation.

Observation 01 — Northwest Field

Wet area visible from the air with standing water and a thinner-looking crop.

Aerial view

Approximate limits of the wet area can be marked on the field image so it is easy to find again.

Suggested follow-up

Check drainage in this spot and compare it again after the next good rain.

If the area is safely accessible, a ground-level photo can be added for comparison.
Observation 02 — East-Central Field

Heavy weed patch visible in one part of the field and noticeably different from the surrounding crop.

The patch can be outlined, photographed, and compared with nearby areas to show its size and location.

Ground check

If practical, walk to the patch for a close photo and note the likely weed type for the farmer to confirm.

Example: suspected waterhemp or another problem weed would be noted as a field observation, not confirmed herbicide resistance.
Observation 03 — South Boundary

Uneven or damaged crop visible along the field edge.

Mark the affected strip and photograph the pattern from above so the extent is clear.

Ground check

A quick look on foot may help distinguish wildlife damage, poor emergence, standing water, or another local cause.

When useful, the report can include both the aerial image and a ground-level photo of the same concern.
The report is the product

Pictures show you the field. The report helps you use what was seen.

Tellus Recon is built around professional reporting. Depending on the job, reports can include selected images, marked areas of concern, locations, comparisons, written observations, and practical suggestions for what may deserve attention next.

The goal is to give you something you can keep, understand, discuss, and use. When something unusual is safely accessible, the job may also include a quick ground check and close-up photo so the aerial view and the actual condition on the ground can be compared in the same report.

About Tellus Recon

Field experience behind the camera.

I didn’t start with drones. I started with field investigation.

I hold degrees in chemistry and geology and began my environmental career at the technician level—measuring groundwater levels, collecting samples, documenting field conditions, and doing the hands-on work that good investigations depend on.

Over time, I advanced into staff-level and project-management roles, working on environmental investigations and remediation projects across the country, from California to West Virginia to Florida. Some assignments were routine compliance work; others involved large industrial spills, remediation planning, emergency-response situations, and unusual problems that required developing an approach rather than simply following a checklist.

Throughout that career, I wrote hundreds of professional reports and created the visual tools needed to make complicated conditions understandable, including site maps, groundwater-flow maps, contamination heat maps, analytical figures, and other technical documentation. I am also a published author, which reflects the same emphasis on clear communication that I bring to client reporting.

I also spent years working in hazardous-material environments and previously completed 40-hour HAZWOPER and supervisory training. That experience reinforced a disciplined approach to fieldwork, documentation, safety, and decision-making.

Tellus Recon brings that same mindset to aerial observation. The drone is a new tool, but the process is familiar: understand the question, gather useful information, recognize what matters, document it clearly, and help determine what should happen next.
